2007 Annual Dinner of China Overseas Holdings Ltd Author:China Overseas Land and Investment Ltd.
Senior management, staff and family members enjoyed a festive evening at the 2007 Spring Festival of China Overseas Holdings Limited, which was held at the Grand Hall of the Hong Kong Exhibition & Convention Centre on 3rd of January 2007.
Theme for the night was “hand in hand, heart to heart”. To celebrate this special occasion of the year, a wishing tree was built up for the gueststo write down their wishes for the new year. Outside the Hall were some booth games. The dinner was kicked off by the Dragon dance performed by the champion team (formed by Civil Engineering-Foundation-Machinery Department) of China State Construction Basketball Competition. Mr Sun Wei Jie, Chairman of China Overseas Holdings Limited; painted the dragon eyes, and Vice-Chairman and General Manager, Mr Kong Qingping, decorated the dragon with ribbons, signifying bringing good fortune to the company in the new year.
Famous artists Mr Carlo Ng and Ms Sara Lee were invited to be the master of ceremonies for the night. Mr Kong gave a presentation about work development and progress in the previous year and announced plans for the new year. He sent his votes of thanks and blessings to all staff members. Mr Sun and Mr Kong then jointly kicked off the opening ceremony by releasing gold and red balloons to the air, which echoed the theme of the annual dinner
Featuring the night were Chinese Opera Performances, including a variety of operas by top-notch artists. In addition to opera and singing performances, group activities and lucky draws, altogether, brought the participants an unforgettable memory.
The Spring Festival is an annual activity that provides opportunities for our Group staff to mingle with each other. It also demonstrates colleagues’ team spirit and sense of belonging to the company.
