The 2008 Global Forum On The Best Practices of Human Settlements was officially convened on 19 June 2008 in Macau. Mr. David Anderson, Former President of the Governing Council of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) and former Canada’s Environment Minister, government officials from the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the PRC, as well local dignitaries in Macau were among the guests in attendance and to deliver speeches.
Royal Lakefront, a property developed by China Overseas Property in Suzhou, was honored as “The Best Community of Global Human Settlements” by UN-HABITAT after their evaluation. Such honor was hailed as an “Oscar Award” in the property industry.
Mr. Zhang Guiqing, General Manager of China Overseas Property’s Suzhou office, received the award from Mr. David Anderson. Both sides had their handprint crafted as well as photo taken afterwards, in commemoration of this glorious moment.
