(4 December 2009) China Overseas Land & Investment Ltd. (“COLI” or the “Company”, Stock Code: 00688) is awarded the 2009 “Global Chinese Business 1000 – Best Business Performance Award” in the area of Hong Kong by Yazhou Zhoukan on 3 December 2009.  Mr. LI Jianbo, Vice Chairman of China Overseas Holdings Ltd. attended the award presentation ceremony.

The Global Chinese Business 1000 is to endorse the outstanding achievement of enterprises in terms of average sales, average net profit growth and innovative measures in last 3 years.  Five enterprises are selected including COLI from Hong Kong, China Merchants Bank Co., Ltd. from Mainland China, Quanta Computer Inc. from Taiwan, Wilmar International Ltd. from Singapore and KNM Group Bhd from Malaysia.

In August 1992, COLI was listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited. Through aggressive business approach and scientific management, the Company has long been devoted to its development of professionalism and scaled operation since its incorporation. Its core business is the development and sales of property projects. The Company has successfully invested and developed numerous popular and exquisite properties in 22 cities or regions, namely Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong etc.  At present, the Company has a total land reserve of 34.69 million square meters, with a total reserve of 31.21 million square meters of land rights which can meet the 20% annual growth rate of development needs in next four years.

Over the years, the Company has actively supported numerous charity and community programs.  Up to now, the Company has donated more than a total of HK$110 million as aid for poverty and disasters, school projects and community welfare, endeavoring to be a good corporate citizen against the background of market economy, which demonstrates its commitment to social responsibility and historic missions.
