(15 July 2010) China Overseas Land and Investment Ltd (“COLI” or the “Company”, stock code: 00688) is pleased to announce that the Company becomes a constituent stock of the Hang Sang Corporate Sustainability Index, which will be launched on 26 July 2010.
The Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index Launch Ceremony was held on 15 July 2010. Mr. Hao Jianmin, Vice Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of the Company attended the Launch Ceremony and received an official constituent company plague from Mr John Tsang Chun Wah, GBM, JP, Financial Secretary of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).
The selection criteria of Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index constituent stocks is very stringent, with relatively high requirements on total market value and the awareness about corporate sustainability (which encompasses environmental, social and corporate governance performance). Therefore, the inclusion of COLI in Hang Sang Corporate Sustainability Index not only demonstrates the recognition of the Company’s effort on corporate sustainability but also proves the strength and image of the Company. The Company will endeavor to work on the area of corporate sustainability and commit social responsibility in a long run, and thus further consolidate its leading position as a corporate sustainability leader.
The newly launched Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index Series focuses exclusively on Hong Kong and Mainland China. The aims of the index series are to further raise awareness about corporate sustainability and serve increasing international interest in sustainability investment. The Corporate Sustainability Index Series comprises three indexes and consists of 39 constituent companies.
