COLI Became Members of The Chamber of Hong Kong Listed Companies and Signed The Hong Kong Corporate Governance Charter Author:China Overseas Land and Investment Ltd.
On 5 May 2011, China Overseas Land and Investment Limited (“COLI”, Stock Code: 00688), subsidiaries of China Overseas Holdings Limited, were admitted as members of The Chamber of Hong Kong Listed Companies (the “Chamber”) and signed The Hong Kong Corporate Governance Charter (the “Charter”) on 17 May 2011.
The Chamber of Hong Kong Listed Companies is a non-profit organization incorporated in September 2002. There are several professional committees under the Chamber which include Membership Services Committee, Financial and Regulatory Affairs Committee, Social Affairs Committee, Professional Education and Training Committee, Corporate Governance Committee, Corporate Social Responsibilities Committee, Investor Relations Committee and Corporate Finance Affairs Committee. Objectives of the Chamber include strengthen the commercial linkage among listed companies in Hong Kong, foster co-operation among listed companies from Hong Kong, China and other countries and regions, ensure effective operations of the local securities market, and uphold Hong Kong’s position as an international trade, commercial and financial centre.
The Hong Kong Corporate Governance Charter is developed by The Chamber and the Centre for Corporate Governance and Public Policy of the Hong Kong Baptist University. Signatory to the Charter voluntarily commits to higher than legally required standards of Corporate Governance and will continuously seek improvements and innovations in Corporate Governance.
By becoming members of the Chamber and signing the Charter will provide COLI with a more standardized and systematic platform of Corporate Governance.
