China Overseas Land and Investment Limited (“the Company” or “COLI”, stock code: 0688.HK) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the “Honourable Mention for ESG Excellence Awards” of the “2023 Hong Kong Corporate Governance and ESG Excellence Awards” co-organized by the Chamber of Hong Kong Listed Companies and the Centre for Corporate Governance and Financial Policy of Hong Kong Baptist University. COLI is proud to be the sole mainland developer to receive this honour in the Hang Seng Index Constituent category.
This year’s competition attracted a zealous response from the market with a record-high number of participants. Only six winners were selected from the Category for Hang Seng Index Constituent Companies. This honour is a testament to COLI’s efforts in achieving the highest standards of ESG and highlights our exceptional performance in the final round’s award-judging panel meeting.
The esteemed Judging Panel commented COLI that maintains a well-structured governance framework with a top-down sustainable development management framework to address key issues of concern, and “ESG risks” are incorporated into the group’s risk repository. COLI demonstrates diversity efforts among directors and employees. The average age of executive directors and executives is below 50, which is considered relatively young among real estate developers. In view of the satisfactory ESG performance of COLI, the Judging Panel is pleased to recognize COLI with an Honourable Mention.
